When They Tore Down the Palace

The Palace, an old time movie theater, stands on the corner of Broadway and 181st Street in New York City. When construction crews tear it down, behind the dusty rubble appears a new world with new possibilities for two girls looking out their apartment window. Soon they begin sending window messages to kids across the way, forming a friendship that they know will last long after a new theater is built, blocking their view of each other's home.
